Aside from the obvious physical design, another thing that set these Nitro gaming laptops apart is the fact that Nitro 7 features aluminium covers on its top, bottom, and keyboard areas. On another hand, the Nitro 5 has a full plastic chassis although it now features a slimmer body than the previous model.
Despite being aimed at casual gamers, both gaming laptops can be obtained with the upcoming 9th Gen Intel Core processors although some markets would also offer units with 8th Gen Intel Core chips. In terms of graphics, Acer somehow didn’t specify the exact GPU on these devices aside from stating that they are equipped with the “latest” NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics. Both Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 gaming laptops are able to support up to 32GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM, two NVMe solid state drives in RAID 0 mode, and 2TB hard drive. Both laptops come with 144Hz Full HD IPS display panel although Nitro 7 screen size is limited to 15.6-inch while Nitro 5 can also be obtained with a 17.3-inch display.
In terms of availability, both Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 will be generally available starting from May onwards. Price-wise, the Nitro 7 carries a general starting price of USD 999.99 (~RM 4,114) while Nitro 5 starts at a slightly lower price point of USD 799.99 (~RM 3,292). We’ll keep you posted once we heard more regarding their availability for Malaysia.
