Well, sort of. Coming to the game is a special collaboration event quest that will allow you to give your Palamutes the appearance of Amaterasu. As with all event quests in the series, the acquisition of the layered armour involves completing the special event quest.
Of course, seeing Amaterasu outside of the original cell-shaded graphics will take some getting used to. In Monster Hunter Rise, the RE Engine will be giving her visible fur textures. The announcement trailer also shows that the skin will also come with her Divine Retribution reflector, as well as the Tsumugari glaive. While your Palamute won’t suddenly be using ink to create miracles, they will get some of Amaterasu’s more passive divine powers. These include blossoming flowers at their footsteps during a sprint. The Okami collaboration quest for Monster Hunter Rise will go live on 30 July. The trailer ends with a roadmap, showing another collab event coming in August, and two more by November.
