Specifically, all Astro customers that have Movie Packs as part of their subscription are provided with access to Disney+ Hotstar. However, the addition of the new streaming service also resulted in a price hike of RM 5 per month on top of whatever they are paying at the moment, starting from this month onwards. Not only that, the price increase applies to all Astro Movie Packs’ customers even if they choose not to activate the access to Disney+ Hotstar. Hence, if you have Movie Packs in your Astro subscription and have no plan to unsubscribe them anytime soon, you might as well check out the new streaming service since technically, you are already paying for it. As for exactly when Astro Movie Packs’ customers are able to access Disney+ Hotstar, the activation will be opened at 12:00 PM today on Astro’s website. Right now, Astro subscribers still have to download the dedicated Disney+ Hotstar app in order to utilise the service, the company is working to make the service available directly via Astro Ultra and Ulti connected boxes later this year. If you prefer direct subscription, the service costs RM 54.90 for three months and you can do so via Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia’s website which is already online at the moment. Alternatively, you can also subscribe via its Android and iOS apps although you have to wait for them to be made available through Google Play and App Store.
