According to the mobile phone camera test page, the Mi 9 score an overall of 107 points on its mobile tests. To put that in context, that score surpasses the overall performance of Apple’s iPhone XS Max (105 points) and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 (103 points). Breaking down the scores, the Mi 9 scored 112 points in the “Photo” portion of DxOMark’s test, and 99 points during its “Video” portion of the test. At the time or writing, DxOMark did not list a selfie score for the phone on its page. DxOMark goes on to list many of the camera’s impressive qualities, which include a balance between good exposure, colour balance, and noise level within a picture. It also seemed very impressed with the phone’s ability to record 4K video by default and out of the box. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is the brand’s latest flagship, having been officially launched about an hour ago. It’s triple camera main array comprises a 48MP Sony IMX568 quad-sensor, a 12MP Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto sensor, and a super-wide angle 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor. Incidentally, the phone’s primary 48MP sensor is identical to the 48MP camera sensor used in the HONOR View20.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is already available for purchase, starting from 2999 Yuan (~RM1814). For now, the phone will only be available for purchase within China. At the time of writing, Xiaomi Malaysia did not provide the local pricing or availability for the phone. (Source: DxOMark)
