First reported by 9to5Google, the edit button will now open up four setting options that are located at the bottom of the screen. The first setting which is also called the playback tab will allow users to adjust the length of a video clip. Users can also utilise it to export frames as well as preview the edited video via the scrubber.
Other than that, users can also choose to apply filters on their videos which are generally based on the same filters that are available for still images. If users want to change the colour and light settings of the video, the third tab is where they can find the option. In the last option tab, users can crop the video either manually or utilise the common presets of square, 16:9, 4:3 and 3:2. The same tab also contains the option for users to rotate their video.
Surprising enough, the new video editor for Google Photos is currently available only on the iOS version of the app. It is not known when it will be rolled out to Android but nevertheless, we believe it is only a matter of time before it happens. (Source: 9to5Google)
