The removal of the power adapter and EarPods not only applies to the newly launched iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series though. Existing models that are still part of the iPhone’s 2020 line-up including iPhone 11, iPhone XR, and 2nd generation iPhone SE will not be accompanied by power adapters and EarPods as well.
Instead, only the USB-C to Lightning cable will be provided to users. This may not be a big issue if you are already using an iPhone or iPad as you may utilise your existing Lightning charger and the same goes for users whom already own a USB Type-C charger. However, if you find yourself needing a new charger, you generally have two options when it comes to first-party Apple USB Type-C power adapter in Malaysia. According to Apple Malaysia’s online store, one such option is the 20W power adapter which is priced at RM 99 while another one is the higher-end 30W power adapter that costs RM 189. How about the new MagSafe charger though? Well, you still have to purchase a separate USB-C power adapter for it, since the MagSafe charger, priced at RM 179 does not come with one. As for the wired EarPods with Lightning, they are still available through Apple Malaysia’s online store for RM 99, should you still prefer a wired headset or seem reluctant to move to wireless audio products.
