The four Core i9 processors include the Core i9-10900X, Core i9-10920X, Core i9-10940X, and sitting pretty at the top of the mountain is the Core i9-10980XE Extreme Edition. In terms of clockspeeds, base clockspeeds begin from 3.0GHz, with the Core i9-10980XE possessing the highest boost clockspeed at 4.8GHz. Naturally, the number of cores in each HEDT CPU differs from one another. At the lowest rank, the Core i9-10900X features a 10-core, 20-thread layout, the Core i9-10920X with 12-core, 24-thread, the Core i9-10940X with 14-cores, 28-threads, and finally, the Core i9-10980XE with a whooping 18-cores, 36-threads.
The new HEDT CPUs also have L3 Caches starting from 19.25MB, all the way up to 24.75MB. More importantly, they all have a total of 72 PCIe 3.0 lanes, making them some of the most suitable processors for extreme productivity and high-performance computing. And of course, all four CPUs are unlocked and overclockable. Moving on the four 10th generation CPUs have a TDP of 165W, as well as support for four-channel DDR4 memory at frequencies of 2933MHz. Like its predecessors, the four CPUs carry support for Intel’s Optane memory.
