Nintendo announced that Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and III will finally be available on the Switch. But they will be playable as cloud versions. Which means that you’ll need a constant internet connection to play them. And if your connection is not metaphorical butter, then expect to run into snags that don’t exist in purely offline versions of the games.

Look forward to more information soon! pic.twitter.com/VtoiCJzxKp — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 5, 2021 None of the three Kingdom Hearts games have a release date just yet, though. And Nintendo says to “look forward to more information soon”. Since these games have been around for at least a couple of years, it remains to be seen what else is there that fans don’t already know about the games beyond their Switch release date. The announcement came alongside the reveal of Sora, the series’ protagonist, as the final DLC character for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It’s a flashy entrance for the Kingdom Hearts series to the platform, minus Melody of Memory, that is. (Source: Nintendo of America / Twitter)
