Powered by Kirin 9000 5nm processor which features a 3.13GHz 8-core CPU alongside a 24-core GPU and built-in Balong 5G modem, the Mate 40 Pro is also equipped with a 6.76-inch Full HD+ OLED display with curved edges on both sides of the screen. The phone also carries 8GB of RAM as well as 256GB internal storage.

For the past few years, Huawei has collaborated with Leica for the camera portion of its phones and things are no different with the Mate 40 Series. Within the circular halo-like camera module on its back, the Mate 40 Pro carries a 50MP f/1.9 main camera alongside a 20MP f/1.8 ultra-wide camera as well as a 12MP f/3.4 telephoto camera. The telephotos camera has multiple zoom capabilities including 5x periscope zoom, 7x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom. A laser autofocus sensor completes the rear camera array on Mate 40 Pro while on the front side of the phone, there is a 13MP f/2.4 selfie camera which works together with a 3D depth sensor next to it.

The IP68-certified Mate 40 Pro also comes with a 4400mAh that supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge wired charger while the wireless version goes up to 50W. At the time this video is published, we have yet to receive launch details for the Mate 40 Series in Malaysia though. However, during the launch event earlier today, Huawei stated that the phone would costs EU 1199 (~RM 5,877) in Europe. We doubt that it is going to cost that high in Malaysia but nevertheless, stay tuned and we will keep you updated once we hear more about the phone.
