However, the Mate Xs doesn’t support as many 5G frequencies as the previously released Mate 30 Pro 5G though since the foldable phone apparently only support sub-6 5G network. When we reached out to Huawei Malaysia for further clarification, the company stated that it will provide software update to allow the device to support more 5G frequency bands in the near future. Given that majority of the 5G test we’ve seen so far is running on sub-6 frequency bands and also the fact that sub-6 frequencies are also part of the MCMC’s pioneer 5G list, the lack of support for low-band and mmWave 5G frequencies on the Malaysian variant might not be a huge issue for now.
