According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scorpion’s Revenge is directed by Batman: Assault on Arkham’s Ethan Spaulding, written by Supernatural’s Jeremy Adams, and featuring NetherRealm’s own Ed Boon as a creative consultant. Community star Joel McHale will be voicing Johnny Cage, while Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter will voice Sonya Blade.
The film will also star voice talents from the game franchise as their respective characters, including Patrick Seitz as the titular character Scorpion, Steve Blum as Sub-Zero, Robin Atkin Downes as Kano, Jordan Rodrigues as Lui Kang, and many others. Scorpion’s Revenge will also have Rick Morales and Jim Krieg as its producer and co-producer respectively. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge will be released in the first half of 2020. James Wan’s live-action adaptation of Mortal Kombat is set to release on 5 March 2021, and serves as a reboot of the original 1995 film of the same name.
