Back when it was first released, the Game & Watch was quite the special gaming device. As the name suggested, it could also serve as a clock, with a kickstand to help it serve that purpose. It was also small, being one of the first handhelds by Nintendo, predating the Game Boy.
But it had one drawback, in that it mostly only had one game hard-coded into it. In the case of Super Mario Bros, a stripped down version of the game was included in the 1986 version of the device. This new version will, as mentioned, come with two more games. And Nintendo also says that there are 35 little touches for fans to discover. The Super Mario Game & Watch will be released on 13 November, for a price of US$49.99 (~RM207), with pre-orders opening up “soon”. Naturally, this will be a “limited production” item, which suggests a lot of price gouging by scalpers looking to make a quick buck when it gets brought over to our shores. (Source: Nintendo.
