Under the hood, the phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G with 5G support and variable rate shading. The 1080p+ 6.6-inch display uses an LCD panel just like the 9 Pro, but the SE features a staggering 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery and uses realme’s 30W Dart charging, which claims to charge to 50% within 25 minutes. The phone can be configured with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and only comes with 128GB of storage, but it also has a microSD memory expansion slot and Dynamic RAM Expansion, which can use up to 5GB of storage as RAM. As for the cameras, the realme 9 SE sports a triple-setup with a 48MP main shooter, a B&W portrait lens, and a macro lens. Meanwhile, the front camera has a 16MP wide sensor. The phone has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-SIM support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Oddly enough, even though it’s a new phone, it’s shipping with realme 2.0 based on Android 11 whereas its recent phones came with Android 12 right out of the box. The realme 9 SE comes in Azure Glow and Starry Glow and will be priced at INR₹19,999 (~RM1,097) for 6GB+128GB and INR₹22,999 (~RM1262) for 8GB+128GB. It will go on sale in India on 14 March, but realme has not revealed if it will be available in other markets. (Source: realme)
