Unlike most multi-variant flagship releases, the standard, Pro, and Pro+ models of the new vivo X90 are actually offered in the same size, though only the first two share the same display panel. More specifically, the standard and Pro versions of the phone come with a curved 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution (1260 x 2800 pixels), 120 Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour output, and 1,300 nits peak brightness. The vivo X90 Pro+ variant, on the other hand, sports a similar 6.78-inch curved display, but instead features a Samsung E6 LTPO 4 AMOLED panel. This allows the phone to output a slightly higher resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, along with 10-bit colour output, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, 1,400 Hz PWM (pulse width modulation), and supports Dolby Vision. Additionally, all three models feature stereo speakers, under-display fingerprint scanners, a USB-C port, Android 13 via vivo’s Funtouch/Origin OS 3 platform, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC connectivity. The X90 trio are also designed to be both dust and water resistant, though keep note that the standard model is IP64 certified while its two siblings are rated at IP68 instead. In the hardware department, both the standard and Pro variants are equipped with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9200 flagship chipset, while the Pro+ model sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Accompanying their respective chipsets on all three is the same memory configuration of up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. Interestingly, vivo has decided to have each X90 sibling to feature different battery configurations, with the standard model packs a 4,810 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging, while the Pro comes with a larger 4,870 mAh capacity with 120 W wired and 50 W wireless fast charging support. The top-of-the-line Pro+ model, surprisingly, is equipped with a smaller 4,700 mAh battery, which supports only 80 W wired and 50 W wireless fast charging. Imaging-wise, the standard vivo X90 is equipped with a 50 MP primary with OIS, a 12 MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom and 12 MP ultra-wide, whereas the Pro model comes with Sony’s IMX 989 1-inch 50.3 MP primary with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto with OIS and 2x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide. As noted earlier, the Pro+ is the only variant to sports a quad-camera setup, consisting the same 1-inch Sony primary sensor as the Pro model, along with a 64 MP periscope telephoto with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom, a 50 MP telephoto with OIS and 2x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultra-wide. In front, all three phones feature the same 32 MP selfie camera that is housed within a punch-hole cutout on their displays. The new vivo X90 series is slated to go on sale in China on 6 December 2022, while its international availability has yet to be confirmed. In terms of pricing, the standard model starts at CNY 3,699 (~RM 2,366), while the Pro and Pro+ variants start at CNY 4,999 (~RM 3,198) and CNY 6,500 (~RM 4,159) respectively. All three phones are available in either black or red colour options, though the standard version has an additional blue colour for your consideration. (Source: vivo China [1] [2] [3])
