It’s worth noting a Pro+ variant was also introduced during the line-up’s initial debut in China last December, which also is the only model from the series to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. However, it may seem that we won’t be seeing this variant anytime soon, as vivo Malaysia confirmed that only its two siblings will be launching for the local market. Further corroborating on this is the absence of the Pro+ model from the series’ listing in the SIRIM database, which was discovered by Kevin Ng TK earlier this month. To recap, both the X90 and the X90 Pro feature the same 6.78-inch curved display with a top-centred camera cutout, 1260 x 2800 pixel resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 10-but colour output, and 1,300 nits peak brightness. While the two variants come with similar looking rear panel designs, the circular camera island on the former is actually slightly smaller than its sibling. Under the hood, the duo are equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9200, the brand’s own V2 imaging chip, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. Battery-wise, the standard X90 comes with a capacity of 4,810 mAh, whereas the X90 Pro has a slightly larger 4,870 mAh capacity. Both devices come with the same 120 W fast charging support via USB-C, though only the latter variant features 50 W fast wireless charging support. Moving on to the photography department, housed within the standard model’s circular island is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 MP primary shooter with OIS, a 12 MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor. Meanwhile, the vivo X90 Pro comes with the aforementioned 1-inch Sony IMX 989 50.3 MP sensor for its primary camera, a regular 50 MP telephoto with OIS and 2x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide. In front, both smartphones come with a 32 MP front-facing camera housed within a punch-hole cutout on their displays.
Now that the local launch date for the vivo X90 Series has been revealed, all that’s left are their pricing and availability. For that, you can expect the company to only fill us in during next week’s event/ (Source: vivo Malaysia press release / official website)
