The Vivo Y33s is equipped with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2408 pixel resolution. Being a mid-ranger, its screen features a tiny waterdrop notch for its selfie camera instead of a punch-hole cutout, and it also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
Powering the device is a 4G-enabled MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core chipset, paired together with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As with Vivo’s recent smartphone offerings, the Y33s also comes with the brand’s Extended RAM feature, which converts a designated amount of storage space into an equivalent RAM capacity for a boost in performance. Battery-wise, the new Y series smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh capacity, which is the standard size for recent mid-range handsets in the market. There’s also 18W fast charging support via USB-C, as well as reverse charging capability – enabling it to function as a power bank in case of emergencies.
In terms of photography, on the back of the Vivo Y33s is a triple camera setup which consists of the aforementioned 50MP f/1.8 main shooter, a 2MP “Super Macro”, and a 2MP depth sensor. While it lacks optical image stabilisation, Vivo notes that the phone’s imaging system does come with “Ultra Steady Video” which stabilises video recordings via electronic means. Meanwhile, housed in the front display’s notch is a 16MP selfie camera.
The new Vivo Y33s is available for pre-order starting today until 10 September 2021, priced at RM999. In conjunction with the phone’s upcoming local launch, the brand is also offering several free gifts to those purchasing the phone during the pre-order period. These gifts include a Vivo-branded backpack, one-year extended warranty, one-year screen crack protection, and a Netflix gift card worth up to RM55. Customers may pre-order the new handset via the Vivo Malaysia E-store, as well as the brand’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee. (Source: Vivo Malaysia press release)
