And it works just as you’d expect it to. Like in any other e-commerce platform, you can now use the Add to Cart button to select multiple items you wish to purchase in a single transaction. And while businesses will need the dedicated WhatsApp Business to make these e-commerce features available, customers will just have to use the base version of the messenger app. But as for when you’ll actually be able to make use of this in practice, it may take awhile still. WhatsApp says only a handful of SMBs in Malaysia were selected to be part of a small global test group. And with the global rollout of the feature being today, it will be awhile before the other businesses adopt it, assuming they choose to do so. With that being said, WhatsApp has highlighted three local businesses that have been part of the test group for the Carts feature. They are Jadi Batek, Muslimah Clothing, and Mu Artisan Soy Sauce. You can pay their sites a visit, then look for their respective WhatsApp contact button to see what the new feature is like. And who knows, maybe you might see something you like while you’re at it.
