The Verge reports that someone who recently bought the still unreleased Xbox Series X controller sent an image of its box over. The box still had an orange sticker telling retailers to not sell or display them until 6 November. This sticker, according to The Verge, is something Microsoft has used before on its products in the past.
— Tom Warren (@tomwarren) August 11, 2020 It appears to not be an isolated incident either. The report goes on to say that there are others who have managed to buy the unreleased controller. Some of them have gone ahead and registered their purchase on Microsoft’s site, and found that the controller’s warranty expires on 5 November 2021. For now, it’s a mystery as to why people were able to buy the unreleased Xbox Series X controllers. The sellers, on the other hand, have unsurprisingly refused to comment. As for Microsoft, the company only said that it had “a lot more in store for the Xbox in 2020 and can’t wait to share it with you”. (Source: The Verge)
