However, a recent listing in SIRIM’s database suggests that there’s a chance that we might be seeing the final entries of the brand’s current generation flagship smartphone line-up in Malaysia very soon. More specifically, the devices in question are likely to be the Xiaomi 12T series which, as you may recall, had been leaked back in August. As seen from the database entry, both variants of the Xiaomi 12T received approvals from SIRIM back in July this year. The standard 12T (model number: 22071212AG) was the first to get the green light from the organisation on 8 July 2022, while the Pro variant (model number: 22081212UG) followed suit much later on 29 July. Xiaomi is still being very silent regarding the existence of the upcoming series, so there’s little to no information about them known so far. For now, we could only speculate on what the 12T line-up could possibly offer based on unofficial details that have been recently provided by insiders and leaksters alike. To recap our previous report, an alleged live image of the Pro variant (shown above) revealed that the device will come with a 200 MP primary camera, which is believed to be powered by the same Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor. If that sounds familiar to you, that’s because it is the same component featured on the Motorola X30 Pro flagship – the first smartphone in the world to feature it.
Meanwhile, a separate leak by tech insider Yogesh Brar suggests the Xiaomi 12T Pro will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Imaging-wise, accompanying the 200MP sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, while situated in front is a 20MP selfie camera. Unfortunately, Brar did not detail the standard variant’s specifications. Seeing that the company has already started building hype for the mysterious reveal, you can be sure that it will follow up with an announcement very soon.
